“Campana e Sonus” at Santa Chiara

2988
Chiostro Santa Chiara

Is a collaboration between the group Percussioni Ketoniche and the Pontifical Marinelli Foundry in Agnone, the original Easter concert, which will take shape on Sunday 5th and Monday, April 6, starting at 17, in the courtyard of the Church of Santa Chiara in Naples.

A unique project, that of “Campana and Sonus – Rintocchi in Festa”, which will stage about 20 bronze bells, which will interact with percussion, metals and video images of Paolo Sapio. A musical journey in search of a new universe of sound and extraordinarily rich, who also intends to enhance the historic bells present in countless steeples citizens. In fact, the show will be made even more authentic by a further “note”. With great virtuosity, in fact, the musicians will fit in performance even the bells of the bell tower of Santa Chiara. The two performances, promoted by Department of Culture and Tourism of the City of Naples, provide hearing and representation of songs from the early Middle Ages, a time when the church bells were introduced in Europe, up to ‘900. The most significant authors cover a time span ranging from Palestrina to Reich. Bells ring to plot a new path made of sound, light and images reminiscent of the fiery river of molten bronze, symbolically re-established the fiery lava of Vesuvius, which runs to the empty form that will become bell.

The shows you can attend the April 5 and 6, however, represent only a first taste and, therefore, experimental edition of a great festival ad hoc which should materialize next year, always in the shadow of Vesuvius.
