It will be the pianist, composer and arranger Cuban Chucho Valdés, among the most influential figures of modern Afro-Cuban jazz, the protagonist of the fifth event in the series “Jazz in July 2015” hosted by the shopping center Campania in Marcianise (Caserta). For the occasion, Tuesday, July 28, from 21:30, the artist will revisit and reinterpret the music of his legendary group, Irakere, with a group of young musicians.
Will open the evening the Mario Nappi trio with trio with Mario Nappi (piano), Corrado Cirillo (double bass) and Luca Mignano (drums). A group of young fresh perception and geometries improvisation that draw on the language of African American jazz, bringing it to the present day with ease and maturity. The end result is a fresh and new sounds.
Close the lucky festival, July 31, again at 21.30, Achinoam Nini Barak aka Noa, Israeli singer from time queen of music without boundaries. With her on stage, Gil Dor, always her guitarist and musical director, and the Solis String Quartet, group estimated and stated that the two works closely with more than ten years to create, among other things, “Noapolis”, a tribute to the culture and classic Neapolitan song, the beginning of a journey, with no time limit.
A concert where the art and the thickness of Noa merge with the skill and vision of the arches of the Solis String Quartet through its own sophisticated and original reinterpretation in the arrangements making this live unique, telling a Naples stereotyped but not a city which it has been and is fully authentic European cultural capital. And the Mediterranean becomes a privileged place of encounter between peoples and cultures, and the great love for Italy, its south, its history, its language and its music by the Israeli singer, and roots Neapolitan deeply the Solis String Quartet, together with great care and respect for traditions and the musical research that has always been the group dedicated to classic Neapolitan song, do the rest.
