The Grand Theatre of Pompeii debuts Traviata

La Traviata opens the calendar of the work of Pompeii Opera Festival. On September 9, in the Grand Theatre of the excavations, it is staged the opera composed by Giuseppe Verdi. The festival this year has scheduled three of the most famous works in the world: La Traviata, Nabucco and Tosca, which will be represented by up to 20 September.

In the first meeting of Wednesday, September 9, to assume the role of Violetta will be soprano Natasha Dikanova, in the first act, Bing Bing Wang, in the second, and Tea Purtseladze, in the third, opting for the version of the work with three sopranos director Enrico Stinchelli, who wanted to give Violetta different interpreters according to the different vocal imposed by Giuseppe Verdi himself in the work. Alfredo will instead be played by Michael Alfonsi. Another wrinkle in the direction of Henry Stinchelli is the nude scene of the first act, when the framework of the mirrors. Conducting the orchestra and chorus of Pompeii Maestro Alberto Veronesi.

The season of opera comes after a series of concerts of classical music, between August and early September, have had as a location the portico of Theatres, always within the excavations.
