Sendai city

Cyborgs, mutants, Valkyries aggressive and scantily clad, legions of robots and a very small army of human produced in the laboratory. Moves in Naples, from June 5 until June 28, in the spaces of the Pan Via dei Mille, after having made stops in Merano and Bologna, “Sendai City. At the end of the Future” exhibition by Marco Bolognesi curated by Valerio Dehò and Massimo Sgroi, starring the world-city, cyberpunk and visionary, created by the artist of Emilia active between Italy and England.

The exhibition, sponsored by the Culture and Tourism of the Municipality of Naples, is a path and interactive, where visitors enter physically in Sendai City, postmodern city and hyper created by Bolognesi in ten years of research and experimentation, an alternative metaphysical world, governed by an artificial intelligence and suspended between past and future, in which the artist tells the contradictions of our present in a psychedelic mix.

Along the exhibition to Pan, you can meet the ship “Mock-up”, a selection of photos taken from the series “CODEX blue” (2008), “Geiko” (2008) and “Babylon Federation” (2008 and 2014), two works from the series “Mutantia” and a series of pastels on paper made from a collage of clippings from old science fiction movie.

The Bomar Universe, or the universe of Bo(lognesi) Mar(co), puts the visitor in front of a question mark on the social and existential changes daily due to progress. Bolognesi wonders what humanity is turning and what future we are talking about. The exhibition of the works, through a path that winds through installations, videos, photographs, drawings, collages, is transformed in this way in a study on the power of technology and the impact that it has on globalization. Sendai City is the city of the future, a future in which we are seeing the end. It is the future of Marco Bolognesi, where multinationals running the world, the car won the man, and no different than what is real from what is not, in which there are big questions about the role of technology and genetic manipulation.
