The Night’s Dream (magic) of Midsummer

Music, performances, installations, dance and rituals that are lost in the mists of time. This and much more is “Night’s Dream (magic) of Midsummer” event free by Annalisa Palmieri, Dario Amato and Stefania Russo included in the bill of the show “Ghosts in Naples” sponsored by the City of Naples, scheduled for Today, June 23, in the heart of Old Naples.

A long appointment suspended between the sacred and the profane, which will continue into the night. The Night of San Giovanni, the Witches and the Summer Solstice: an explosive mix of magic, tradition and attractions, to a traveling, interactive, during which it will be possible, among other things, to relive what happened on that night in Naples, centuries ago, near the church of San Giovanni to the sea.

Start, at 17.30, in the courtyard of the complex of Sant’Antoniello at Port’Alba (Piazza Bellini) with a performance of dance-theater of Mauro Maurizio Palumbo and Salvatore Camerlingo, the performance of the hooper Mariagrazia Poggiagliolmi inspired by the marriage between the Sun and Moon and the site-specific installation of Federica Rispoli.

Guided by the actor Duilio A. Vaccari, in the role of Virgilio Mago, the journey will continue in via Broggia, stopping by Gino Ramaglia, an institution in town for items for the Fine Arts, whose showcase comes alive with the dancer Maria Carla Pennino and body painter Weronique Art. First tasting with wines Donna Jolanda and Sfiz & Soda.

Another stop in Piazza Dante and then, all in Bellini square with the improvised theater of Delirio Creativo aka Alex Capasso, Alessandro Colmaier, Rosaria Iadevaia, Giuliana Pinelli and Serena Russo, to relive the history of the witch Port’Alba Maria the crazy and, with dancing and folk music, what happened during “The bona”. The lines will be assigned, however, to Giorgio Cipriani.

Last but not least: via Constantinople, where between the steps of the church of San Giovanni Battista and the Alter Ego will alternate: Carlo Contocalakis live with the presentation of his latest album “Do not be afraid”, the tasting of Nocillo 24 company by Nastro d’Oro and wine Vigna delle Ginestre, the performance of Margò Lazar of Tribal Parthenope and a series of ancient rituals always related to that night.

A “stop” the highlight of the event, the stories on canvas by the popular artist Antonio Conte and shots of Paolo Vitale.
