A wall dating back to Norman<\/strong> <\/a>came to light in the historic center of Cellole<\/strong><\/a>, in the province of Caserta<\/strong><\/a>, during the restoration of the ancient tower of the eleventh century in the square Compass. The discovery was made by the workers of the company which was commissioned the recovery of the six-meter high and has been certified by an architect of the Superintendence of Cultural Heritage<\/strong><\/a>. “We were pleasantly surprised to learn that during the work of recovery of a priceless treasure like the tower is coming off even a wall of the Norman period, the weather had deteriorated and hidden,” said the mayor of Cellole Aldo Izzo. The tower, once owned by the Curia, for several years, was in poor structural conditions so that last year was cordoned off to danger of collapse. The property is located in the square Compass, the ancient ‘agora’ built to connect the neighborhoods of Lupoli and Aurunci.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
