Here are the new open domus"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>New domus open and back to the history in the archaeological excavations of Pompeii in the last year.The\u00a0<strong>&#8220;Domus of the Geometric Mosaics<\/strong>&#8221; is one of the largest of the ancient city of Pompeii. Named after its rich floor decorations, the Domus had more than sixty rooms and a spectacular arrangement in terraces. Probably owned by a powerful politician, the building was abandoned in 62 AD, after the violent earthquake which damaged the area around the Vesuvius. The eruption of 79 AD, covered it under a thick blanket of ash and lapilli, until the first half of the nineteenth century, when the dwelling was excavated .<\/p>\n<p>After a long \u00a0restoration, the Domus officially rejoined the tourist circuit of Pompeii last November. When the Vesuvius erupted, the dwelling was still under construction.\u00a0<strong>The Botanical Garden<\/strong>, a domus of two floors with three entrances, named for the Garden it housed.\u00a0<strong>The Odeion<\/strong>\u00a0(or Little Theatre), near\u00a0<strong>Porta Stabia<\/strong>. And\u00a0<strong>the Domus of Queen Carolina<\/strong>\u00a0and its precious frescoes of IV style.\u00a0<strong>The Boar House<\/strong>\u00a0and its mosaic in the vestibule which represents a wild boar attacked by dogs.\u00a0<strong>The House of the pygmies<\/strong>, so called from the fresco depicting life scenes of some pygmies on the banks of the Nile.\u00a0<strong>The Small Lupanare<\/strong>\u00a0or\u00a0<strong>&#8220;Lupanariello&#8221;,<\/strong>\u00a0a private space dedicated to pleasure, with some erotic scenes painted on the walls.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_26106\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-26106\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.charmenapoli.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/casa-obelio-firmo-17.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-26106 size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/www.charmenapoli.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/casa-obelio-firmo-17-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"casa-obelio-firmo-pompei\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.charmenapoli.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/casa-obelio-firmo-17-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.charmenapoli.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/casa-obelio-firmo-17-768x513.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.charmenapoli.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/casa-obelio-firmo-17-800x534.jpg 800w, https:\/\/www.charmenapoli.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/casa-obelio-firmo-17-696x465.jpg 696w, https:\/\/www.charmenapoli.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/casa-obelio-firmo-17-1068x713.jpg 1068w, https:\/\/www.charmenapoli.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/casa-obelio-firmo-17-629x420.jpg 629w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-26106\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">casa-obelio-firmo-pompei<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><strong>The Domus of Obellius<\/strong>, one of the most articulate dwellings of the city, where a huge strongbox has been found. The rich house of\u00a0<strong>Marco Lucrezio Frontone<\/strong>\u00a0has been completely restored and open to the public. This domus hosts some of the finest wall paintings of Pompeii, including a fresco depicting the murder of Neoptolemus by Oreste. This house is one of the richest and most famous of ancient Pompeii.
