]]> The realist works of Antonio Mancini at landscapes en plein-air by Francesco Lojacono and Gabriele Smargiassi, up to the daily life immortalized by Filippo Palizzi and Marco De Gregorio: 34 works of the Neapolitan School will be on display from October 8 in New York at the Italian of culture, for the exhibition “The light of Southern Italy“. Landscapes, seascapes, genre scenes, portraits by artists from the southern regions like Abruzzo, Molise, Campania, Puglia, Basilicata, Calabria and Sicily. After the success of the exhibition on the Macchiaioli, the exhibition, curated by Marco Bertoli, it is part of a project aimed at re-evaluation and rediscovery of the extraordinary pictorial heritage Italian 800 and especially in southern Italy still little known in the United States. The intensity of the light and the colors carrying the viewer in the climate of the Mediterranean and convey the aura of southern Italy, with the ruins of Pompeii, the size of Vesuvius, the rugged coastline, and the humble charm of the locals.
