Cappella Sansevero

It will be the mysterious and fascinating Chapel Sansevero, Via De Sanctis 19, to host Sunday, March 1st, starting at 19.30, the Baroque Ensemble of Naples with a concert dedicated to Leonardo Leo (1694-1744), one of the biggest names in music school Neapolitan, at the presentation of cd “Leonardo Leo, sonatas for flute and continuo” published by Stradivarius.

Stars of the evening, with free admission by invitation only (to be withdrawn, subject to availability, at the ticket office of the Sansevero Chapel Museum), Tommaso Rossi will be the recorder, harpsichord Patrizia Varone, Ugo di Giovanni all’arciliuto and Raffaele di Donna bass recorder.

In the lineup, “Sonata in C major” Larghetto-Allegro-Largo-Allegro,

“Sonata IV in F major” Largo-Allegro assai-Largo-Allegro assai, “V Sonata in F major” Largo-Allegro-Larghetto-Allegro assai and “Sonata VII in D minor” Largo-Allegro-Largo-Allegro.

The sonatas of Leo definitely add a new light to the repertoire for flute Neapolitan area and are a precious record of significant interest to this instrument by the composer of San Vito of the Normans, who joins that, by now well-known, for cello.
