“Some things can be said with words, other with movements. There are also times when you run out of words, completely lost and disoriented, no longer know what to do. At this point begins the dance”. And if to say this is Pina Bausch, mother undisputed of theater-dance, you have to believe. Not surprisingly, her own inspired performance “cit. P. Bausch 3.0”, with free admission, will take shape tomorrow, 11 June, at 17:45 in the National Archaeological Museum of Naples, for the exhibition “Artists at MANN” of the Educational Service. Starring, Mauro Maurizio Palumbo with the “DanzAttori” company, of which he is artistic director. The event, organized by Raffaele Loffredo, is coordinated by Marco De Gemmis, that for this initiative urged the neapolitan performer to deal more closely with the language of German choreographer, already indispensable reference point is the search for a director. The appointment intends to be performative interpretation actualized grammar of Pina Bausch, revisited some of the key steps of her artistic career, to which Palumbo combines personal inventions. These are different times that fit in the spaces of the Museum, and more precisely in the halls of Tyrannicides and the Farnese Bull and the base of the staircase. The performance is a tribute and an ideal implementation of the Tanztheater today.
The site-specific performances of Mauro Maurizio Palumbo are the result of studies on the theater-dance, non-verbal communication and body as a means of connection between artist and audience space. “The body – says the artist – is a “tool” for the creation of works of figurative art, which by definition can rightly understand the dance and the various performance techniques; but the body can also represent the most effective protagonist of nonverbal communication: through theater and dance performances and you can contribute to “liberate” the identity of contemporary man, often forced to use masks in order to exist in the society of his time”.
The free entrance, a few minutes before the performance, does not give the right to visit the museum.
