An unmissable concert event for the Easter period, the Stabat Mater, a meditation on the suffering of Mary, Mother of Christ, the sacred text of the thirteenth century attributed to Jacopone, rescheduled for Neapolitan Easter in a special version with period instruments.

Monday, March 21 at 19:00 at the Royal and Pontifical Basilica of St. Francis of Paola, at the fourth edition of the European Day of Early Music, Art Area presents the Stabat Mater by Nicola Hall entrusted to the solo voices exceptional Francesco Di Vito – soprano Rosa Montano – mezzosoprano and the Ensemble Baroque the music Chamber of Naples.

Stabat Nicholas Hall, an outstanding teacher of the ‘700 Neapolitan school of Sunni origins, although built as part of the conventions of what was a form-text of sacred music and the Neapolitan school of the eighteenth century, has originality characteristics which make considered among the masterpieces of the genre. The work for two sopranos, strings and basso continuo, is made up of 10 numbers, has five solo arias and five duets and the last ending with a complex built on the run ‘final “Amen”
