Thanks to the Association WANEMA (We New Energy for Mandolin), the name of which blew up just around the positive amazement that accompanies many emotions of the Neapolitans, mandolin, fundamental part of the history, culture and identity Neapolitan, will find an active space in in museum form. A place that does not want to just be visited, but practiced and lived as a center of aggregation, comparison, study, collection and listen for any fan and scholar of the mandolin.
A room that is a candidate to be a real place of worship of the Neapolitan musical tradition, where every centimeter, every wall, every décor exudes “Mandolin”, where tourists and Neapolitans will concentrate of Neapolitan Classical Song. Mandolin will also be on display next to other members of the family of the “plectrum instruments”, ancient and rare species including Neapolitan mandolins, Romans, electric mandolins, banjo, oud, harp-mandolin, along with a rich collection of sheet music and clichés , such as the publisher Bideri, famous for the dissemination of copielle, or of the printed editions of Neapolitan songs from the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, and were illustrated by the artist Scoppetta for the covers of the songs and poems.
The House of Mandolin will be scene of an intense program of initiatives and events to spread all that the mandolin is, in all parts of the world and in all ages. The Association WANEMA, he also thought of performances in which musicians, teachers and enthusiasts, will participate with a simple reservation to perform on the small stage. Many synergies with other organizations, such as The Posteggia with a view to an overall synergy that acts as an accelerator for all initiatives that aim to promote and preserve the beauty and importance of the Neapolitan culture.
Will participate in the inauguration mandolin Abruzzese Francesco Mammola (Abbado Prize Winner 2015) and M.o Giusti, son of the composer and mandolin orchestra Anedda. The main events for the concerts will be on the weekend, from Friday to Sunday – at 10.20, at 11.20 and at 12.20. The concerts will be accompanied by wine tasting and tasting of typical Neapolitan cuisine.
