Habemus “PanSfogliatella”, savory new leavened Christmas, who “married” the North and the South of Italy in the sign of sweets, or the Milanese panettone and Neapolitan sfogliatella. A “marriage”, apparently unusual, but tasty celebrated in Pompeii at Pasticceria De Vivo, who wanted to celebrate so its first 60 years in business, and which premiered last weekend at the hotel Parker’s part of the “Re Panettone – Naples”.

“The” PanSfogliatella”- explains Marco De Vivo – was born from the union between a king and a queen, sovereign of both worlds (only) apparently far apart: panettone, undisputed king of Milan, and sfogliatella, queen of Naples. North and South who they meet, in short, creating (and taste) to a sweet with special features, representing the Italian traditions of Christmas”.

The original Christmas cake designed by De Vivo, has the advantages of the classic panettone and sfogliatella, which is a perfect combination: soft as the “King”, tasty as the “queen”. The dough of the cake, in fact, have been added to the typical ingredients of the sfogliatella: fresh ricotta of vaccine, the candied fruit, the flour and cinnamon. Moreover, the sfogliatella is “quoted” also at the top of the cake, thanks to a decor of icing that recalls the “curls” of the famous Neapolitan sweet. The “PanSfogliatella”, therefore, is very similar to the “mommy” and “daddy”: it enhances the flavors, while establishing itself as a new unique features.
