Napoli, il Museo Nazionale di Capodimonte

What better setting for a royal palace surrounded by green rolling hills of Partenope, with its 160 rooms, the numerous works of art on display and some 150 acres of parkland, to host an international forum of the European Ministers of Culture? That’s why we chose the National Museum of Capodimonte for the first informal meeting of Ministers of Tourism and Culture of the European Union, chaired by the Minister Dario Franceschini, which opened its doors today in Naples (and will keep them open until next Friday ). Tomorrow, however, it will 13.mo the European Tourism Forum entitled “Tourism and Culture in Europe: Innovative Actions for Growth and Employment” (with the special participation of the candidate countries and EFTA countries – European Free Trade Association) kick off the dances. Same location, same city. The event is part of the initiatives of the Italian Presidency of the Council of the European Union, chaired by the Minister Dario Franceschini, who said he was particularly pleased with “the choice of Naples.” Why, said the government official, “Naples, Campania and the South are not only centers, but archeology, nature, landscape.” And so, he concluded, “the potential of the South are endless”.
