Doors opened at Palazzo Zevallos and Banco di Napoli

Invitation to the Palace, Saturday, Oct. 5 from 10 am to 7 pm: the doors of the most beautiful palaces of Italian banks and their art collections  are opened with entry and free guided tours. In Naples, thanks to the initiative promoted by the Italian Banking Asociation, you can visit Palazzo Zevallos Stigliano (via Toledo 185) of Intesa Sanpaolo. In seventeenth-century building with large courtyard, transformed in the public hall, you enter through the magnificent portal surmounted by the coat of arms of the Colonna of Stigliano family. The building houses for the autumn of 2013 two exhibitions: a monograph of Gastone Novelli and a study of the Caravaggio by Louis Finson. But unfortunately you can not see the end of the season artistic masterpiece by Caravaggio: The Martyrdom of Saint Ursula, the last work painted by Michelangelo Merisi in 1610, just weeks before his tragic and lonely death. The rooms of the permanent art collection of Palazzo Zevallos are in fact subject to extension work that probably will end in December.[charme-gallery]

In addition to Palazzo Zevallos Stigliano in Naples will be open also the headquarters of the Banco di Napoli in via Toledo (via Toledo 177), building, built between 1936 and 1939 by Marcello Piacentini. The style of the building back to the Renaissance and Roman classicism, modern twist. The interior is centered around a large living room with triple height closed by a skylight that illuminates the entire room. Saturday, October 5, in both the palaces of the group Intesa Sanpaolo, the free guided tours will take turns pianists for a non-stop music from 10.30 am to 0.30 pm.[charme-gallery]
