The Franciscan community is celebrating. During a Mass celebrated by Friar Francesco Mauro Del Grosso was made public a decree by which among Agostino Esposito, Provincial Minister of the Friars Minor of Naples and Caserta, has ordered the “revival” of the Fraternity of lay Boscotrecase, in the province of Naples. The solemn ceremony was attended by the President of the Franciscan lay people of Campania, Michele Ortaglio and representation of citizens emotionally tied to the small temple of Via Carlo Alberto. The measure, read in the presence of Fr Rosario Petrullo, parish rector of the Church of St. Anna – where, initially, the community saw the light in 1883 thanks to the foresight of the then parish priest Giuseppe Izzo – ensures a secure future and the possibility, relatively quickly, getting the indispensable generational turnover between the devotees of Francis of Assisi. Before the celebration of Francesco Mauro Del Grosso, and the president Ortaglio visited the Minister Emeritus Giuseppe Ciro Noto. “Don Peppino – have said the two, along with the regent of the fraternity – has been and remains a landmark. Is the grandfather of all we Franciscans and, thanks to his experience in the field, will continue to dispense advice to young people”. At the end of the Mass, a copy of the decree was handed symbolically to Rosa Liguori who, at 103 years, is the most tertiary ‘long-lived’ and is “always ready to encourage more young people not to surrender to the moral degradation that is characterizing recent times”.
