Welcome to Cilento, extreme southern Campania Felix.
A land of ancient beauty, endowed with lush vegetation and pristine.
Furrowed by ships since ancient mariners of the Greeks, as Omero says that here setted part of the legendary journey of Odysseus tied to the death of his friend Palinuro. And later discovered also by the colonizers of the City.
Here, among the picturesque medieval villages perched on the gentle slopes overlooking the sea, from March 21 to May 18, will be held a unique artistic and culinary event called
“Cilento Art and Food”, sponsored by the city of Ascea.

At the center of the event: the gastronomic excellence cilentana that will transform the surrounding countries participating in real citadels of taste to be reached by tourist buses. However, if you prefer a more folk then you can do so directly to the horse or even a donkey.
But first things first and we anticipate something about the many activities planned.

There are many towns to visit and rediscover their cultural and historical authenticity, as the historical center of Castel San Lorenzo, where stands the ancient palace of the Princes Carafa in 1272 and the Sanctuary of the Madonna della Stella dating back to 1100.
Recall also that the village is located in the beautiful Cilento National Park, an oasis of green glades, elected by Unesco World Heritage Site.

Still, with its 578 inhabitants and its noble palaces, Monteforte Cilento represents another important step in the succulent “journey” to discover the wonders of the place.
Here complicit in the fertile soil of the woods, is the largest production of chestnuts. As we move into the town of Felitto, which still retains its ancient city murararia , we can bump into Her Majesty the pasta.
