To David di Donatello has plundered awards (well 9 that the trio most important: best film, script and direction). Now, is waiting in the Green Island, where on June 29 will receive the Ischia Film Award 2015 as best director of the year. Award, which in the past has been attributed to famous people in the world of cinema as the French director Benoit Jacquot and Oscar winner Bille August.
We’re talking about Francesco Munzi, among the leaders of the thirteenth edition of the Ischia Film Festival, which will take shape from June 27 to July 4, in the enchanting setting of the Aragonese Castle, the exclusive venue of the event.
“It’s with great satisfaction – declares festival director Michelangelo Messina – who we give this award to Francesco Munzi, a director who we have seen take part and win the Ischia Film Festival in 2005 with his Saimir, won the award for best feature Italian”.
His “Black Souls” which will be screened at the festival immediately after the meeting with the author, is an intense noir set in Africo, in Calabria deeper and tells the story of three brothers affiliated with the ‘Ndrangheta.
“We will welcome with great pleasure, concluded Messina – also the winner of the David di Donatello for best short film, the director Giuseppe Marco Albano, who will be in Ischia in the same evening with his short film Thriller competing in the short film section”.
