Born as a symbol of the program of waste separation of the shopping center Campania in Marcianise, The Garden in Campania, a teaching garden created in 2011 in the areas adjacent to the commercial structure, has been realized with the collaboration of architects, agronomists, designers and educators. Its terraces are fed with compost produced from organic waste of the 25 restaurants in the center. To date, over 10,000 children have already passed among the vegetables of this educational area following workshops and lectures held in collaboration with Slow Food.
At Remote Future, the Garden doubles and arrive in Piazza del Plebiscito with a group project “nove.architetti”: the same minds that five years ago, even students of architecture, conceived the space of Marcianise. Today, professionals, architects have designed two large gardens with furniture from the cell structure.
During the event in the Plebiscite, there are 36 laboratories and educational walks that will involve adults and children in activities dedicated to sustainable agriculture, healthy eating, the fight against waste, recycling of waste. The appointments will be taken care of by 14 educators L’Orto in Campania, students or neo professionals with specific expertise in scientific and pedagogical.
In addition to the trees and the aromatic essences, the plants in the garden of Piazza del Plebiscito are ecotypes of Campania winter crops, vegetables excellent symbol of the territory. Among others: the soup of Christmas, the Torzella, Fennel headstock, the Scarola, the Lettuce bacoli.
The structure is located inside of the tour of Remote Future will be open to all.
