From tonight (Friday July 18) goes live on the program of the Forum of Cultures Naples. The festival will open on the waterfront, at the roundabout Diaz, with the musical “Dock of Sound” to an end on 1 November with an event in the Piazza del Plebiscito in which there will be a passing of the baton to the city that will host the next edition of the Forum , which could be Beijing. Slogan of the cultural event, “The roots and the future.” In the middle, 120 events including music, entertainment, workshops, exhibitions, performances and installations that pass through the city of Partenope in every neighborhood.
During the summer, the focus will be on the waterfront with an offer of free concerts by international artists from Naples and that will last a month. On the stage, just to mention a few artists, Enzo Gragnaniello which opens this evening with Diego El Cigala, Goran Bregovic, Youssou N’Dour, Daniele Sepe, Eugenio Bennato, Peppe Servillo. In the fall, the main cultural centers will be the monumental complex of San Domenico Maggiore, where up to January 2015 will host the exhibition “The beauty or the true” Neapolitan sculpture exhibition on the late nineteenth century, the Overseas Exhibition, without forgetting the museum San Gennaro with the exhibition “Ori, silver and gems” and the Teatro San Carlo, who will host conferences of international character.
Among the main events of the Forum of Cultures: The “Forum of Mediterranean Cities” organized in collaboration with Anci; Universal Future Forum opportunity to “think about the future development of sustainability”; conferences made the Cidac on the theme of contemporary art as a tool to build a new common identity among the peoples of the Mediterranean; the ‘Remixing Cities “on the issue of urban regeneration; Womad event multiethnic designed by Peter Gabriel that Naples has created a special production of sounds, images and flavor of the five continents; the “Milleculture Sport” organized in collaboration with the Coni; the “Dialogues of the Mafia”; “Edwardian” project created to celebrate the thirtieth anniversary of the death of the great Eduardo De Filippo is divided into conferences, exhibitions, performances; “Spiritus Mundi” multicultural and interfaith dialogues.
