From 16 to 23 October next, the blood of the Polish Pontiff Jean Paul II will be exposed for the veneration of the faithful in the parish of San Marco in Teggiano (Salerno) led by Don Cono Di Gruccio. The arrival of the relic coincides with the first liturgical feast of St. John Paul II established by Pope Francesco in October 22 of each year, the day when, in 1978, John Paul II celebrated Mass at the beginning of his pontificate, and uttered the historic phrase, became the motto of his 27 years on the throne of Peter: ‘Do not be afraid! Open, open the doors to Christ'”.
Intense program of events that will animate the eight days in which the blood of the Polish Pontiff will stop in Teggiano, conducted under the auspices of the Municipality of Teggiano and collaboration ACLI Salerno, the National Association Papaboys and numerous movements and associations such as the Cross Italian Red (CRI), the Feast of the Child and thanks to the economic contribution of the Parish Festival Committee and the BCC MPR and Sassano. Heart of the celebrations will be the Pontifical Mass presided, October 22 to 19, by Cardinal Salvatore De Giorgi, Archbishop Emeritus of Palermo, one of the three cardinals “007” chosen by Benedict XVI for drawing up the dossier Vatileaks.
