L'opera di Strollo "Listening to Mahler"

It never ceases to surprise “Artisti in Vetrina”, the dense and variegated collection which periodically takes shape in the spaces in front street of Gino Ramaglia, historic store specializes in items for the Fine Arts, which is just a few steps from Neapolitan Accademy.

The protagonist of the new event, curated by Claudia Del Giudice, is Luciano Strollo, Neapolitan doctor, figurative painter and musician for passion, that tomorrow, Thursday, October 15, at 19, will inaugurate his “Reflections”. Fascinated by the strong colors used by Alberto Sughi, his scenes in cinema, depicting the audience at the boundary between painting and comics, Strollo takes all the atmosphere transporting them in the theater, a metaphor for life par excellence. Also evident are the influences of Lucian Freud and the German New Objectivity, discernible in the process of reworking the reality.

Often, starting from photographs that protagonists human subjects, including his wife, the artist uses the realism tainted taste expressionist, emphasizing the emotions. While employing either oil and acrylic, with the same results using the little pictorial material used, his paintings show how reality and introspection they meet in the art. Lines, shape, lights and their position within the paintings are just gimmicks to go to inner analysis and lead the viewer to a series of arguments on himself and on the stages of their lives.

The beautiful works of Luciano Strollo, including “Listening to Mahler” and “Rain”, will remain on display in street Broggia 10 until next October 30.
