Curtain up at Marina di Camerota (Salerno), for the eighteenth edition of the “Meeting del mare“, the festival created and directed by Don Gianni Citro, which presents concerts, exhibitions, meetings author, theatrical events, artistic performances and dance contemporary art. Special guests of the event, which this year explores the theme of Origin: Franco Battiato, Gogol Bordello, Rocco Hunt and the Le Luci della Centrale Elettrica.

The event is scheduled from next Friday, for four days (and nights) of shows along the beautiful sea of the Cilento, all with free admission. On stage will alter with others, the concerts of the Sangue Mostro, Foja, Gnut, Patto Mc, Paranza Vibes, Pennelli di Vermeer, The Shak & Speares, Sabba e gli Incensurabili, Danamaste, Aeguana Way, Kutso, Plug & Play, Nicodemo, L’Erba sotto l’asfalto, The Bidons, Neurodeliri.
New to this edition is the “Jam Camp” , an outdoor musical factory that has meetings from May 29, live performances and workshops with artists, producers, journalists, cultural workers and start-upper. The opening, May 30, is entrusted to the young rapper Rocco Hunt from Salerno. The winner of the Sanremo Festival in the new proposals with “Nu juorno buono“, presents in Marina di Camerota on the day dedicated to rap and hip hop his latest album “‘A verità“, which recently won the disc gold , as well as songs from his previous work, “Poeta Urbano” .

The second day of the festival will be the turn of the singer Vasco Brondi from Ferrara , better known as “Le Luci della Centrale Elettrica”, which just by the Meeting del mare debuts with the summer tour following the release of their third album “Costellazioni“. With him on stage, Ettore Bianconi (electronics and moog ), Sebastiano De Gennaro (drums), Daniela Savoldi (cello) and Andrea Faccioli (guitars) . Sunday, June 1st will be up to Gogol Bordello: the gypsy- punk combo led by Eugene Hutz, and only concert in the center-south Italy, presents the songs of the last job  “Pura Vida Conspiracy“. The album, recorded at Sonic Ranch Studio in El Paso (Texas) and produced by Andrew Scheps, follows on the heels of the previous “Gypsy Punks: Underdog World Strike“, “Super Taranta !” and “Trans -Continental Hustle” offering a mixture of folk, punk and ska.

It closes June 2 with the return of Franco Battiato at the Meeting del mare, after the concert in 2006. Sicilian composer and director will perform with Carlo Guaitoli at the piano, Angelo Privitera on keyboards and programming, the Nuovo Quartetto Italiano and Davide Ferrario an exclusive show of song writing, pop music and breakdowns bold.
